No comments were received from the Telecom Ministry on query related to Somaiya’s Tweet.Noida-based company Ringing Bells today started booking for the phone for Rs 251 and has said that delivery of all handsets will be completed by June 30. Ringing Bells’ President Ashok Chaddha said manufacturing cost of the phone is about Rs 2,500, which will be recovered through a series of measures like economies of scale, innovative marketing, reduction in duties and creating an e-commerce marketplace. “By going for Made in India components, we can save on the 13.8 per cent duty. Also, we will be selling online first and thus save the costs incurred on large distribution network,” he said. Chaddha also rejected speculations of the handset being subsidised by the government. “The phone will be manufactured in Noida and Uttaranchal. Two plants will be set up for Rs 250 crore each with a capacity of 5 lakh phones. The money will come in the form of debt and equity (1.5:1),” he said. Chaddha added the equity is being met by the promoter family of the company that is “engaged in agri-commodities business” in Uttar Pradesh but declined to give further information. Somaiya as well as industry has not found the proposition convincing.”From the response I read of Shri Ashok Chadha of Ringing Bells that how much cost will be saved due to import/local assembling/ online marketing… far from convincing,” Somaiya said in a letter attached to his tweet. Mobile phone industry body ICA too has raised red flag on offering of the company. “We have checked with all operators in the industry and no one has admitted to have been in any kind of bundling deal or partnership with them. I will only say consumer should stay cautious. More than consumers, it may hurt businessmen in small towns if the promise made by the company fails,” ICA National President Pankaj Mohindroo said.

It is only a product under make in india scheme.... thats all.... Why would u give it a political face? if u want to trust / gamble, pay for it... or else, simply dont buy. but at least get the facts cleared and then point / blame anyone.

OF INDIA is nowhere a part of this phone. The manufacturer / Seller of this is Ringing Bells Company. This company clearly says its a private company and is just offering the phone under Make in India Scheme. So guys please be aware and share this bit of info so that everyone is clear about the phone not being launched / supported by govt. of india in any sense.

It has whitner added on the top where we can see is a logo of Adcom which is a Delhi based importer of gadgets. Its just a rebranded shitty smartphone. Also,the company is not certified from Bureau of Indian Standards which actually prohibits the company from selling products in India. Now, what's the funda of 4 months waiting? It's very simple logic. 1. Take money of people with name of so called BOOKING. 2. Keep that money in bank account. 3. Bank will credit interest on it. 4. Return ₹250 of each person who booked it by saying LIMITED STOCK. 5. Keep the bank interest as profit. I still dont think they ll give back 251.. colonthree emoticon People stupidly created buzz for this stupid smartphone.

Freedom site will show any tracking id. 2. you may not check your booking status. 3. payment confirmation mail also will not receive. 4. you will get only ccavenue payment slip to your mail. they are not genuine. they are not running website as a professionals.

Date: 17 Feb 2016 22:48Read it first... The website is choppy as f**k. The parent company - Ringing Bells is showing nothing in its website about its launch. The coverage by mashable, gizmodo and other good agencies is pretty much superficial. Looks like a job done by interns. Now my question is a finished smartphone has a duty , super stockists , distributors margin as their website and their is this retailer. From their website , Return of investment is not fixed as the market depends on several factors like popularity of new models etc. however 15% ROI is expected and break even period is 2-3 years with proper marketing and dedication towards business. Poor people are a gullible and greedy lot. Moment they see a steal people will flock in thousands to this. Point is will it see a flash sale ? Not available online and only through distributors makes me want to question, are they paying from their pocket.
