Indiafreestuff : Site Upgrade Announcement & Discussion

Dear IFS Community,

Thank you to be a part of IFS. It is with great honor to introduce you to the new indiafreestuff.in, we working on it from last three month and It's finally here. we're pleased to share it with you and we hope you'll enjoy it just as much as the previous site. We've upgraded the indiafreestuff to latest software version, which should make the experience a lot better for you especially when it comes to fast searching for deals. As you all noticed there have much improvements in indiafreestuff new update and layout over the old. As this was such a large task and still partially done so there maybe some bugs and no doubt you'll have questions and suggestions about the new look of website so we would like to use this thread where you can discuss the changes and any issues you may encounter. You can post all kinds of issues & suggestions related to forum and front page. Your concerns are an important part of our continuous improvement program within the community. Our developers are monitoring the thread 24x7 and will resolve any bugs that are raised, we are implementing action plans to address outstanding issues. 

Although we have a list of already know issues.

What to expect next:

We will be rolling out updates throughout the week and outline the changes on this thread. 

Update 1 :- Forum theme has been changed to match our home page. You still have choice to to choose old default theme or new theme. You can change it from footer > Theme

I loved the revamped, I liked that SSL encryption has been integrated which provides more secured connection. It would be better if it has night mode which may reduce eye strain.

I dont like the revamped website of IFS, I am the daily visitor of IFS since it is in blog. I faced the following issues in new site.

 

1) Loading front page very slow (i am using 20mbps / ps fiber net)

2) site looks clumsy, too much animations

3) Very Slow loading in mobile site

4) Unable to login

5) Taking more time to load Forum in mobile

6) Grid layout not working properly, when we use ad blocker.

Hi, grid layout properly work with adblock i suggest you clear website cache and cookies then try. thanks for support

2) No need to put grey background and loading wheel   

3) Wright 1 or 2 lines on  the mouse over animation (No need to fill & reduce the grey level)

4) While refreshing site loading list view first and then grid view. (This is not a animation)

@Admin  look at the page size it is 2.4 MB, assume how much time to take load non metropolitan areas.    

Other site with No animation and i pm to you the site name (this site loads quickly on desktop and mobile)

Image slow loading is not animation but that is lazy load image technique which makes site load faster as only required image loaded when user scroll.

Pictures are loading but I feels it is slow loading because of the "SAND CLOCK"  (actually slow down our brain's perception of time. And just as powerfully, mindless distraction can easily create the feeling that we're losing whole hours, days and months)

Instead of Sand Clock you can use "Fast loading progress bar" and try to remove the " "

At that time we had server issues which fixed in 1 hour.

you know beeter than me but i think you have to use icon type instead of img in sd section

please use some eyes relaxing color but green colour is very sparkling which is really not suitable for our eyes(use dull color or shades)

many times server giva an error after login, dont know why but ifs server goes down several times,

use small and nice font instead of big size(because it cover all the text description instead of showing what is that product)

now forum take much time to open(main homepage- bhai 2g chla lo phir dekho browser thk jayega, forum hot deal section(ex.)- it opened but comapre from past, it takes more time)

@Admin fp's Previous layout was better than that of this..!! Revert if possible!!

First of all top marks for the effort ?...now to give you an overall review of the new look.

Forum Blue / White color code is different from the Front page Green / Orange...Are u going to change the forum shades as well.

If yes...look to only change the colour , keep the layout as it is , this is more than efficient on our end with respect to loading times and general browsing.

Coming back to the site , the hourglass timer is creating issues for me , everytime i open the page i see this loading in every deal cell listed there...takes a while for it to dissapear which has affected the scrolling up / down a little bit...basically don't see the deal pic the instant i land on the page which used to be the case earlier.

I haven't registered any other flaws yet , if i do will let you know. In the meantime resolve these and try to make it little more fluid.  ???

That is beacuase we used lazy load image technic to make browsing faster. Lazy Load is delays loading of images in long web pages. Images outside of viewport are not loaded until user scrolls to them. This is opposite of image preloading.

But we got many negative feedback, our developer looking for some other technique. Thanks for feedback.

@Admin and IFS team: another issue identified by me in this new upgrade is that i am not able to search from the front page of the website and getting the 404 error...please look into this on priority....!!!

Recent post and recent comment section are missing on homepage. At least recent comments section must be there at homepage.
